About Us – A Brief History
Serving the community since 1993, striving to make Pallion a better place to live, work, and learn.

Our Journey
Pallion Action Group was established in 1993 by a group of local residents who were concerned about the decline of the area. We started in a small shop unit, but thanks to the dedication of our team and the support of the community, we quickly outgrew it.
In 2002, we moved to our current, larger premises, which were officially opened by the Mayor of Sunderland. This expansion allowed us to become a true "One Stop Shop" for the community, providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
A Holistic Approach
We tackle poverty, deprivation, and exclusion by addressing the needs of the "whole person"—social, physical, mental, and economic well-being.
Powered by Volunteers
We rely heavily on our amazing volunteers. Currently, we have around 30 volunteers who contribute approximately 500 hours every week. They are the heartbeat of our organization, gaining skills and confidence that often lead to paid employment.
Award Winning Service
In 2005, we were incredibly proud to be awarded the "Queen's Award for Voluntary Service"—the MBE for volunteer groups. This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of our team to the local community.

We work in close partnership with key organizations to deliver the best possible support for Pallion:
